Welcome to the Wasatch Journal
Our timeless stories and enduring images celebrate Utah’s arts, culture, and outdoors.

The Wasatch, unlike mountain ranges characterized by one continuous ridge, is made up of several well-defined massifs, or compact groups of connecting mountains. Beginning at Brigham City to the north and extending south to Mount Nebo near Nephi, widening between Park City and Salt Lake City, the Wasatch is made up of eight distinctly different yet interconnected massifs. Geography begets character, and like Utah’s massifs, its cultures display unique and recognizable traits. Yet the people who love the Wasatch and the country fed by its plentiful runoff—including the Cache Valley, Washington County, red-rock country, and wherever the rivers flow—share a spirit of adventure, a lust for exploration, and a thirst for the best that life has to offer.

In every issue, the Wasatch Journal delivers the stories and images that bring our distinctive passions into sharp focus. Marshaling a team of talented writers and photographers, we cover Utah’s magnificent abundance. Whether it’s fine art, architecture, or fine dining; skiing, snowshoeing, or snowboarding; golfing or horseback riding; local literature or independent film, the Wasatch Journal will remind us all why we return to Utah, again and again.
